Sample itinerary

  • Day 1

    Travel from school by coach and Eurotunnel or ferry to Rouen (Rotomagus). If travelling from Dover (Dubris) do not forget to visit the Roman Painted House and Faros. Afternoon at Place du Vieux March archaeological museum.

  • Day 2

    Short coach excursion to the amphitheatre of Lillebonn. Afternoon optional visit to Notre Dame Cathédrale – Aìtre Saint-Maclou – Norman Gothic Abbatiale St Ouen or Musée des Beaux-Arts.

  • Day 3

    Early morning visit to one of the many outdoor markets for local produce (bread, pastries, fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, flowers, fish).. Returning to school by coach and Eurotunnel or ferry via Boulogne-sur-Mer (Bononia) used by Claudius as the base for his invasion of Britain.
