Sample itinerary

  • Day 1

    Morning flight to Lyon. Transfer by coach to Vienne. Visit Vienne Museum, Roman Theatre, Temple of Augustus and Livia, the remains of the Roman Wall and the Roman Pyramid. Check in to Vienne/Lyon hotel. Evening meal.

  • Day 2

    You shall travel by coach to Orange and visit the archaeological museum, theatre, triumphal arch and the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Nazareth. Continue on coach to Glanum to the visit the triumphal arch, mausoleum and archaeological site. Check in to Arles hotel. Evening meal.

  • Day 3

    Morning visit to Pont du Gard. Followed by an afternoon guided tour of Nimes including visits to the amphitheatre, Maison Carrée and Tour Magne. Overnight Arles. Evening meal.

  • Day 4

    Depart from hotel on foot and explore the Roman city of Arles. With a wealth of places to visit, choose from the theatre, amphitheatre, archaeological museum, Necropolis of Les Alyscamps, Constantine baths, Cryptoporticus and more! Coach transfer to Marseille airport for return flight.

    A one day extension will allow a more leisurely exploration of Arles and also of Marseilles – Basilique-de-Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, Musée des Docks Romains, Musée d’Histoire de Marseille and Musée d’Archéologie.
