    Departure from UK. Transfer to accommodation.

    Guided city tour. The Central Museum of the Armed Forces.

  • Day 3

    State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia. Gorki Leninskie.

  • Day 4

    State Historical Museum to understand Russia’s history. St Basil’s Cathedral, then Red Square and Lenin’s Mausoleum.

  • Day 5

    Visit the Kremlin, inc. museums, churches and parks. Overnight in St Petersburg.

  • Day 6

    Tour of main sights. Museum of Political History.

  • Day 7

    Cruiser Aurora, Palace Square, location of the Bloody Sunday Massacre (1905). Winter Palace, home to the State Hermitage Museum.

  • St Basil's Cathedral is the icon of Russia, created from 1555 to 1561 to commemorate the 1552 victory of Ivan the Terrible capturing the Tatar stronghold of Kazan on the Feast of Intercession.

  • This is the second largest museum in the world and houses excellent examples of Western European art, initially collected by Catherine the Great.
